| Contents | The Biochemistry course provides both a general overview and an in-depth analysis of biochemistry, covering structural aspects and, in particular, metabolic processes. This knowledge is essential for understanding the molecular basis of human diseases and is therefore fundamental to the training of a well-rounded physician. Special emphasis is placed on the molecular mechanisms underlying human physiology, pathology, and pharmacology, with particular attention to Precision Medicine. |
| Textbook and course materials | Core textbooks: |
| Course objectives | D1 – Knowledge and understanding |
| Prerequisites | To competently attend the Biochemistry course, students must have acquired a solid background in Chemistry and Introductory Biochemistry, Biology and Molecular Biology, and Physics. |
| Teaching methods | The course will be delivered through traditional lectures for a total of 112,5 hours, supported by PowerPoint presentations and other digital materials made available to students. During the lectures, active student participation will be encouraged through discussion sessions aimed at clarifying course content and deepening understanding of the topics covered. |
